Meme

Fri Dec 26, 2008, 11:32 PM
  • Mood: Uneasy
  • Listening to: Flogging Molly
  • Reading: The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents
  • Watching: Princess Tutu and Team Four Star's DBZ Abridged
  • Playing: Nothing
  • Eating: Pasta, cookies, popcorn, other stuff
  • Drinking: Orange soda
Here's a meme I stole from :iconpirthecatsir:

100 TRUTHS:
001. Name - Shain
002. Nickname - Besides usernames, nothing I've been called.
003. Status - Not knowing what to do with too much thought, emotion and unstructured time.
004. Zodiac sign- Scorpio.
005. Male or female - Female.
006. Elementary - Waverly School in California. Oh god the stories I could tell...
007. High School - Ribet Academy, also in California. It has the same amount of stories attached as Waverly, though they have more to do with stupidity than politically correct BS.
008. College - Smith College. I'm not ready to leave it yet!
009. Smart - The main thing I've got going for me.
010. Hair color - Currently red, though that's due to hair dye.
011. Long or short - Short.
012. Loud or Quiet - Quiet, generally, except when I get excited or angry about something.
013. Sweats or Jeans - Jeans I wear on a regular basis, but sweats I use as pajamas. They're soft.
014. Phone or Camera - Depends on the circumstance.
015. Health freak - Only to the extent that will keep me out of the hospital or otherwise out of trouble.
016. Drink or Smoke? - No.
017. Do you have a crush on someone? - No, or at least not as it's understood by most. Probably not then.
018. Eating or Drinking - Currently drinking orange soda.
019. Piercings - None anymore.
020. Tattoos - Gah, needles. *shudder* Never.

FIRSTS:
023. First piercing - Ears twice when I was younger - they both sealed up.
024. First best friend - :iconfatebreakker:
025. First award - The first one I remember was getting an award in kindergarten for being the "Most Academic." Is it ironic that I had no idea what that meant for being the most booksmart in class? At least it pissed off the bully, or so I remember.
026. First crush - It wasn't so much that as pretending I felt something for someone because I was given the impression that I was supposed to do so at that point. It was towards someone really quiet and awkward in class, who probably would've had no more idea how to deal with me than I did with them. (...Or do you mean fictional characters? That I could tell you, maybe...)
027. First pet - Panther, my black lab. Or if you mean the first pet I owned, it would be Mr. Tabio, my old tabby cat. I miss them both. :<
028. First big vacation - I believe it was to either Hawaii or Mexico, but I couldn't tell you.
030. First big birthday - The first one I remember well is one where we had all the people over from my class and we all took turns hitting a pinata of Barney the Dinosaur. >D I actually liked the idea of killing Barney quite a bit.

CURRENTLY:
049. Eating - Ate popcorn earlier, considering eating cookies.
050. Drinking - Orange soda.
052. I'm about to - Sit here. Wait for something to happen. If all else fails, watch anime or play my new video game.
053. Listening to - I have "The Black Friday Rule" by Flogging Molly stuck in my head.
054. Plans for today - None. Today is over in 45 minutes.

YOUR FUTURE:
058. Want kids? - I'd like to avoid hospitals, further medical problems, pain, invasive physical contact, loud noises, annoying food textures and other related things, thanks.
059. Want to get married? - Meh. Don't care much for the ceremony (I'll only do it if I get to wear a suit!). Want companionship of a completely platonic sort, however.
060. Careers - Going to law school next year in order to advocate for disabled people in the future. Also hoping to do something related to my artistic abilities.

WHICH IS BETTER WITH OPPOSITE SEX?
068. Lips or eyes - If I notice anything it'll be the eyes.
070. Shorter or taller? - *shrug*
072. Romantic or spontaneous - How are those opposed? I refuse to answer this question unless the terms are better defined.
073. Nice stomach or nice arms - You mean people notice that?
074. Sensitive or loud - Sensitive all the way. Loud people are annoying, and I'll need someone who will try to understand me, what I can and can't do and put up with, and how best to make things easy.
075. Hook-up or relationship - Relationship. The former is completely pointless to me.
077. Troublemaker or hesitant - A little bit of both, leaning towards the latter as I'm the troublemaker myself. Not over-the-top, but willing to make hell when it's absolutely necessary, or at least to not let a bad system keep existing.

HAVE YOU EVER:
080. Lost glasses/contacts - Once or twice.... >> <<
081. Ran away from home - No. Considered it briefly, but would have had nowhere to go.
084. Broken someone's heart - Probably so. Only one of the people I can think of I actually feel bad about, though, as he was decent and I was an idiot who didn't get it. All the other people who have attempted to be with me had no clue about my boundaries and preferences, but instead thought that they could be changed to fit others' liking.
085. Been arrested - No.
087. Cried when someone died - When my grandma did when I was little. I could never manage it for anyone else in my life, though. I don't know why.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN:
089. Yourself - I can't afford not to.
090. Miracles - Not as such, necessarily. Maybe. I usually prefer to attribute things to people making them happen.
091. Love at first sight - It doesn't make sense how that could work.
092. Heaven - Some sort of afterlife. Not necessarily angels playing harps, but something.
093. Santa Claus - Of course, he's at the mall every year. :B
094. Sex on the first date - Inadvisable and careless.
095. Kiss on the first date - *shrug* Sure, if you like the person.

ANSWER TRUTHFULLY:
097. Is there one person you want to be with right now - Yes.
098. Are you really happy with where you are in life? - Currently I'm frustrated with several things, but I'm on the cusp of what could really be scary and sucky but could be awesome.
099. Do you believe in God - Again, not necessarily big dude in the sky with a beard like people usually imagine it, but something that cares about our existence, my existence, and has a purpose for me. (...I just hope God isn't like Herr Drosselmeyer in Princess Tutu... then we're all fucked.)
100. Post as 100 truths and tag: NO.

I fucking love you for your writings! I just click the watching you! This is how I feel about you since you're an wise and educated person who knows what society are made of. We need more people like you although I am trying to do this alone considering that I'm an teenager who have problems with hearing which creates an border which is hard to break.

Thank you very much, both for the nice comments and for the watch. Although my writing in this case is a bit old, I still hold largely the same sentiments. It's good to know that quite a few people agree!

And I definitely relate as someone with impairments, both as a kid/teenager and now (though it's much easier) as an adult.

Yes, it is good to know that a few people agreed since they turn out not to be one of the masses.

Explain how would you relate to them? I know technology changed which may have an huge impact on their skills on linguistic to art.

:iconnightmarekitty:
Indeed. Unfortunately even many of the people who have gone through bad things have internalized what they've been told and accepted it as "just how it is" rather than actually being wrong. I hope to never do so, and that there are others who won't as well.

I have minor hearing problems myself, but most of what I know about how the educational system treats people who are different comes from having a couple of conditions that have caused me to look odd and have speech difficulties, among other things. It's amazing how little understanding educators and others have for less visible, telegenic and marketable differences.

They tend to accept it because they gave up completely on the bad thing and decided that they can't do anything about it whole moving on into life without questioning which this happens in the people that have gone through the bad stuff.

They would perceive people with difficulty to something considered stupid because we ain't one of them while not having the similar behavior as them thus they think we have a mental retardation issues or whatever they think of us in a bad way. Yes, it amazing how little understanding they have since they have think like the other which is caused by the social effects within humans.
